Please.  The katz that I run with are so scheming and coniving until they'd try to fugg a snake if they could train it to keep it's head straight.

Nope, nope, nope...  I'm not gonna be responsible for you crying your eyes at 3am in the morning talking about,  "Why did ____ have xes with me, sleep with my sister, and my BFF, get money from me and took another chick out in my ride to dinner, then leave me?  Double_Ayy! told me that his friend was a nice guy but wasn't jack-schitt to women.  Oh Lawd, I'm so tired of these effin' losers.   Waaaaaaaaaaa..."

I hope this post is not a long one....I dont want to hear it.....

But here is my commentary on this subject.

Sweet and simple......We were born in sin, shaped in iniquity...In other words, we long for wrong things, Those that are sinful, immoral, wrong, unlawful, etc.  We are born with the characteristics of a sin nature.   You remember the curse of man ....Adam and Eve...that old story that got us in this trouble.  OF the purpose for Jesus was to give us back our place of righteousness we once had.

We are born knowing wrong.  have you ever paid attention to a toddler walking around the coffee table...Before he/she reaches to touch anything, they glance at authority to see the reaction before the infamous, NO, NO, comes along.  They already know in their little brain this is not what I am suppose to do but I am going for it......That is why good has to been taught...it lies dormant within us, but to get it out we must be taught what is good , right and fair.

Paul in his words..Said I want to do good I desire to do good but everytime I try that old sin nature rises up.   He basically said it is a fight.  The truth......some of us dont fight it.  We give into that feeling, those impulses.   There are things that I know are wrong out of my character and I find myself longing for them...but I am grateful and thankful that the God in me out shines the evil in me so I can wins some of the battles....Now if I could win the fat fight I would be good.

I said all this to say there is within us the ability to want that which is not good.  Some of us know the difference...Some of us have given up on wanting to know the difference we dont fight it....We embrace it, that is why  you see people doing what they do, living like they want, looking like they want, disrespecting themselves and of course no self respect means no respect for anything.     We long for the things that we should not want.....and sometimes it is the exilaration of the thrill.   People equate bad boy with thrill and straight up good with boring...It is all in our ability to decide what it good and what is evil.

Pastor Di, As Salaam Alaikum!

Well said.

But if women, who you'd think should have learned from past experience that as you put it so eloquently, "equate bad boy with thrill and straight up good with boring..."  don't you think that they would eventually realize, like in the words of that old Negro spiritual, "The thrill is gone, Baby!" and that they should start steering away from those bad boy types?

The thrill is gone....old negro spiritual...you are a riot....

the problem with experiences is....sometimes we really dont have the self esteem we should have to come out of the darkness.

We self sabotage.....I have seen women get beat down by a man and defend him...why because the feel they dont deserve better or more...or feel that somebody else wont love them.. bad attention is like bad publicity.....to some bad is better than nothing at all.
How you preceive yourself and your cir****tances says alot about your choices.

Now you picked up on "Negro spiritual" but let As Salaam Alaikum slide.  Pastor Di, I's wonders 'bout you, Baby.

But I definitely hear you on the self sabotage thing.  We do it to ourselves when we just settle for what's available and don't take the time to "Shop Around" (another good Gospel Hymm that my mama used to sing.)

Man, you are something! lol  dont you think for one moment I missed anything ...i did not comment ... 1) I was not sure about the spelling and I felt it may have been you salutation.  But I thought it odd..so I comment on that which made me laugh.. A sistah is slow but not that slow.....and I cryin' on Shop around being a hymn....Kinda like my favorite hymn Love and Happiness revy rev AL.

Thanks for this post it was a good one.

Oh yeah.  Now that is one of those good ol' slow roasted, honey-baked jams that just melts on your musical taste buds and puts a smile on your face when ya hear it.

Definitely a keeper.
